Galentine’s Day Gift Ideas, DIY & Giveaway

Hello & Happy February! Last week’s blog post was technically in February, too. But this week’s post is all about Valentine’s - or rather Galentine’s Day! - so it feels extra appropriate to be celebrating this month of love on the blog today...

CONFESSION: my hubby and I don’t buy each other Valentine’s Day gifts. Okay, maybe he gets me flowers & we exchange cards, but that’s about as crazy as it gets!

This year I want to celebrate all of the amazingly supportive “gals” in my life! From my mama to my grandma to all of the lovely readers of my blog - that’s YOU! Every time you hop on this little blog of mine & read and comment and share in this crazy adventure of life with me, it seriously means so much! So I’m doing something a little extra special & sharing the love with all of you - like you’ve been doing all year long for me!

Galentine’s Day GIVEAWAY

I’ve been working with Red Apple Lipstick over this past year & doing a few lipstick giveaways here and there. If you follow along on Instagram, you’ve probably heard me talk about their other amazing products over the last few months as well. I’ve been a long-time fan of their creamy, gluten free & non-toxic lipsticks, but since working with them over the last year I’ve also branched out to trying some of their other products as well - which is saying a lot for me because I usually just stick to my same ‘ol, same ‘ol easy-and-I-know-it-works makeup routine. But I’ve actually had lots of fun trying out these new products & I wanted to give ONE of you that same opportunity!

And let me tell you, these new products did not disappoint!

Every time I try something new from Red Apple Lipstick (and I’m super hesitant to try new products for fear of breaking out or having some sort of bad reaction - super sensitive skin!) - I’ve been absolutely blown away! I’m not just saying this because I love working with their company (which btw is super genuine & sweet), but I am actually amazed at how well their products work! Plus, their extremely committed to ingredient transparency & everything is gluten-free & non-toxic! It’s pretty much a win-win-win!

So DRUMROLL, Please…

I’m incredibly excited to be teaming up with them again & bringing you our BIGGEST giveaway yet!!! One lucky winner will receive this entire Galentine’s Day Giveaway haul of $350+ of Red Apple Lipstick products!

Galentine’s Day GIFT IDEAS

If you’re also looking for a little something special to give as a Galentine’s Day gift this year, makeup is such a fun gift! It’s not something we usually venture out to buy for ourselves - at least not outside of our normal makeup favs. So it’s a fun way to treat your girlfriends & let them know how special they are to you! And she’ll even get to try out a new color of lipstick or makeup brands she’s never tried before!

Galentine’s Day Gift Bag DIY

I’ve always loved the presentation of a gift almost as much as the gift itself, so I’ve included a quick little (& inexpensive!) way to DIY your own gift bag that adds a little personal touch to your gift!

What You’ll Need: small brown paper gift bags, two colors of festive tissue paper, heart shaped gift tags, and 2x2 inch blank square stickers (optional)

STEP #1 Print Out “Happy Galentine’s Day” Stickers

It’s pretty simple to design your own stickers with any Avery brand label stickers & print them out. Or you can get fancy & use your best handwriting to write your own message on the bag/sticker!

STEP #2 Tie Heart-Shaped Gift Tags to Handle

After you’ve pasted on the sticker or handwritten your message, tie the heart-shapes gift tag around the handle to add some extra color & personalize your gift bag!

STEP #3 Finish with 2 Layers of Festive Tissue Paper

Grab the center of a single sheet of your first color of tissue paper (xo pattern) and gather it together by creating a bouquet-like shape. Then grab the second color (red) and do the same thing before placing the first color inside the second color to create the layered “bouquet” of tissue paper to insert into your gift bag!
