From hair accessories to leopard print, not to mention banana scarves and pattern mixing, there are always so many fun, new trends to try each season (& so little time to do it!) So I’m breaking it all down step-by-step in today’s blog post, so you can dive into trying some of these fun, new trends without feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin (& to save you precious time in the morning while still feeling extra effortless & chic in your everyday mom style outfits)!

3 Easy Ways to Try a New Trend

#1 Start with an accessory!

Whether it’s a patterned scarf or a dainty hair pin, starting with an accessory is the perfect place to begin trying a new trend. Less commitment and inexpensive, yet still office appropriate for all of you working mamas. Plus, if you find it just doesn’t jive with your personal style, you can always take it off halfway through the day.

STYLE TIP: Pair an all black maternity dress + open front cardigan with 3 pearl encrusted hair pins for an effortlessly chic outfit. Make sure to angle the hair pins in different directions to really capture that effortlessly chic vibe.

#2 Wear it with your favorite outfit!

Pairing a trendy item with your tried & true style uniform is a great way to update your everyday outfits while giving you an extra boost of confidence to try a new trend. Think: jeans and a tee + that oversized headband or trendy fiddler cap you’ve had your eye on. It’ll give you a sense of confidence in the rest of your outfit so you can have fun rocking that new trend.

STYLE TIP: Take your favorite sweater + jeans outfit up a notch with a blush pink headband. Throw on your go-to Fawn Design blush pink diaper bag or any matching tote for instant cool-mom status.

#3 Add in pops of a new pattern or new color before going all out.

Again, this is a subtle way to incorporate a new trend into your everyday outfit without have to go full on commitment. Dabble with a few new pops leopard in a fun barrette, Hair scrunchie, or skinny belt before going full out with that leopard print skirt or blouse. It’ll ease you into the trend & make you feel much more confident (without having to spend an arm and a leg just to try a new trend)!

STYLE TIP: Wear a leopard scrunching on your wrist OR in your hair… nothing says effortless like having options, especially when you just need to throw your hair up in a quick ponytail & go! Embrace the mama-on-the-go vibe & rock that extra pop of pattern like you mean it.
